春节习俗英文介绍

Chinese New Year, or Spring Festival, is the most important festival for Chinese people. It is usually in late January or early February, and lasts for about two weeks. The festival has a history of about 4,000 years.

During the festival, people usually give presents to each other, such as money in red envelopes. Setting off fireworks is an important tradition that lasts from Chinese New Year’s Eve to the fifth day of the festival.

Another important tradition is cleaning the house and wearing new clothes. People also buy new decorations to place in their homes to bring luck and ward off bad spirits.

On New Year's Eve, people have a big dinner called reunion dinner. All the family members will get together and say something auspicious for the new year. On the fifteenth day of the first month, which is the last day of the festival, people hold the Lantern Festival, which is a celebration of joy and happiness.
