Volunteering How do you think about volunteering? As far as I am concerned,it’s an altruistic activity that helps cultivate responsibility, abilities, warm-heartedness, etc. To begin with, it is necessary to clarify the two concepts—helping and volunteering. When you help others, you needn’t spend much time, money, or energy, such as raise a fallen old man. But when you are doing volunteering, you must concentrate your attention on it. For instance, many undergraduates volunteer to be a temporary teacher in the poor countryside. In brief, volunteering is a series of help. As the old saying goes, the rose's in her hand, the flavor in mine. After you devoting your time and love, in return, this activity can produce a feeling of self-worth and respect. Lei Feng, a great man in China, who led a much more difficult life even than the ordinary people today does, felt happy about his life because he dedicated most of his life to helping others. He was build up as a good example to Chinese people. On March 5th, the anniversary day, many volunteers take part in various commonweal activities in their spare time and enjoy a lot. Many of my friends and I take delight in completing voluntary tasks. Getting involved in volunteering, we will be exposed to a new environment, and learn how to work well with a team, how to improve our interpersonal skills and organizational skills, all of which are essential for our growth. Most importantly, you feel happy only when you are willing to help others by giving what you have; because that’s a significant way you see your personal value realized and feel proud of yourself. I sincerely hope that more and more people would join the volunteering work.
