The Foolish Old Man Moved Mountains --Yu Gong Yi Shan愚公移山. Long long time ago, there was an ninety-year-old man named Yu Gong (愚公) who lived in the north of two high mountains. One was called Tai Hang Mountain and the other Wang Wu Mountain. It was hard for him and his family to get around because of the mountains. So he made up his mind to move the mountains out of his way. One day, Yu Gong called all his family together to talk about how to move the two mountains to other places. 很久很久以前，有一个九十岁的老人，名叫愚公，住在两座高山的北边。 一个叫太行山，一个叫王屋山。 由于山的存在，他和他的家人很难四处走动。 于是，他下定决心，要把山移开。 一日愚公召集全家，商议如何将两座山移至别处。 His wife said, "An old man like you cannot even move a small hill, not to mention the two high mountains. They transported the earth and rubble to the Sea of Bo Hai. 于是愚公和他的儿子、孙子们开始击碎岩石，移走泥土。他们把泥土和瓦砾丢进了渤海。 Their neighbor was a widow. She has an eight-year- old son . He was glad to offer his help. Summer went by and winter came. He laughed at him and said, "You are so silly! You're so old and weak that you can't even take away the grass and trees.
