　　It is reported that the listening test will have been canceled in the English College Entrance Examination of Shandong province since 2014. The news triggers a heated discussion among the people who are concerned about the most important examination. Some people hold that the burden of the students will be reduced without listening. Also, it tends to avoid such public affairs as happened among the examinees and help to reduce the city and countryside disparity. There are other people, however, who are against this decision on this reform. They argue that this policy may influence negatively the English teaching method of senor or junior middle schools and even primary schools all over the country, for it is most likely to result in rebirth of “Deaf English” or “Dumb English”.

　　In my opinion, college entrance examinationis supposed to examine all aspects of English learning including listening,speaking, reading and writing. It is hardly possible for an examination without listing to assess students’ overall language ability. As to reducing students’burden, what matters is how to reform the way to test students’ ability in College Entrance Examination instead of simply canceling the listening section. For example,a student can have several chances to do listening test for College Entrance Examination.

　　According to the reform program of the college entrance examination that the Ministry of Education has made，some of the subjects will be examed many times in a year.People have different oppinions about this. Some say that this program give students more free time.Students can choose the exam time themself and it's obvious an effective way to improve their grades of the university entrance examination.On the other hand,if some of the subjects are finished ahead of time,students will be in less pressure during the time. There are also many people against the program while others are in favour of it.It wil increase the burden of the students by the frequently tests.Also,it is a waste of the education resource cause the exam costs more in this case. In my oppinion，to pass the exam before the reference time is a good way to relax ourselves while we are all under the pressure of the university entrance examination.So I'm looking forward to see the reform program to be brought into force. 　　English, which has been one of the core subjects in China's national college entrance exam for almost 30 years, looks set to be reduced in importance (降低重要性)from 2016.

　　The current English test in the Gaokao is to be replaced by social English tests available to the public for several times every year. The exam's full mark of the test will also be lowered from 150 at present to 100. The test result will also be graded into levels A, B and C which will count towards the final Gaokao score.

　　This came amidst rumors sweeping online that English might be removed(退出) altogether from the Gaokao – a claim which has since been denied by the Beijing education authority – but not the central government. It is also said that the students' learning interests on Chinese language might be further aroused.
