一、教材中的短语
（一）get out of
该短语表示“从...出来；逃避；戒除”。如：

I had to get out of that house in disguise. 我不得不化了装离开那屋子。

Some men would do anything to get out of the war. 一些人在为避免战争而奔波

I wish I could get out of the habit of smoking. 我希望我能改掉吸烟的习惯。

【注意】

1、get out of常和way搭配使用，即：get out of one's way，表示“让开；让路”。如：

Get out of my way or I'll ride you down. 让开，否则我会把你撞倒。

2、get out

该短语其实是get out of的副词性的表达，后面不再接宾语。如：

If you won't keep quiet you can get out. 你如不保持安静，就请你走。

（二）get on with
该短语表示“与某人...相处；继续做”。如：

I find it difficult to get on with your sister. 我觉得和你的姊姊难以相处。

Cut the chatter and get on with your work! 别唠唠叨叨了，继续工作吧。

【注意】

get on with的副词性的短语是get on，表示“相处；进展”。但是，该短语也可用作介词性的短语，后接交通工具，表示“上车等”。如：

He's sure to get on in the world. 他一定会出人头地。

She got on the bus and picked a seat up front. 她上了公车，找了个最前面的座位。

（三）get off
该短语表示“从...下来；逃避”。如：

The train pulled in and all the passengers got off. 火车进站了，所有的乘客都下了车。

She tried to get off doing this kind of work. 她试图摆脱干这一类工作。

（四）get over
该短语表示“克服；恢复”。如：

He has got over the language barrier. 他已克服了语言障碍。

She has never really got over the accident. 经历了那个事故，她从来没有真正恢复过来。

（五）get through
该短语表示“接通电话；通过；做完”。如：

I rang you but couldn't get through. 我给你打电话，但没有打通。

We had to get through the narrow opening sideways. 我们不得不侧身穿过这狭窄的通道。

When you get through with your work, let's go out. 你完成工作后,我们出去吧。

二、更多常用短语
（六）get to
该短语表示“到达”，to时介词。如：

Keep straight on until you get to the church. 一直朝前走就走到教堂了。

（七）get up
该短语表示“起床；起立”。如：

We will get up early and do some housework. 我们将早起并且做点家务。

Get up on your hind legs and do some work! 站起来干点活儿吧!

（八）get around
该短语表示“规避；说服”。如：

It's wrong of you to get around the regulation. 你存心规避规章制度是不对的。

I got around my father to lend me his car. 我说服了父亲借车给我。

（九）get away
该短语表示“逃脱；离开”。注意当表示“逃脱”时，常用作：get away with。如：

Do you think you can get away with it? 你认为你能逃避责罚吗?

I hope to get away early in the morning. 我希望一早就动身离开。
