高考英语词汇详解：bed的用法
　　1. 关于与冠词或其它限定词的连用问题：
　　一般说来，表示与“睡觉”这一概念有关时，通常不用冠词或其它限定词，反之则用。如：
　　It is too early for bed. 现在睡觉太早了。
　　He went to bed at 9 last night. 他昨晚9点上床睡觉。
　　He wentto the bed and found a letter on it. 他走到床边，发现上面放着一封信。
　　He sat by the bed, watching TV. 他坐在床边看电视。
　　与介词in连用时，通常不用冠词;而与介词on连用时，通常要有冠词。如：
　　He is still in bed. 他还在睡觉。
　　He’s sick in bed witha cold. 他因感冒而卧床。
　　There is a box on the bed. 床上有个盒子。
　　有时两者都可以用，只是搭配不同而已。如：
　　躺在床上看书是个坏习惯。
　　正：It is a bad habit to read in bed.
　　正：It is a bad habit to read on a [the] bed.
　　与介词into, out of 等连用时也通常不用冠词或其它限定词。如：
　　He got into bed quickly. 他很快上了床。
　　He jumped out of bed as soon as he heard the bell. 他一听到铃声就跳下了床。
　　2. 注意以下合成词：
　　bedroom n. 寝室，卧室。如：
　　The children’s bedroom is on thetop floor. 孩子们的卧室在顶楼。
　　bedtime n. 就寝时间。如：
　　My usual bedtime is 10 o’clock. 我通常10点上床睡觉。
　　bedside n. 床边。如：
　　He watched by her bedside. 他守护在她床边。
　　bedsitter n. 卧室与起居室两用的房间
