C16G4李小美 Changes of procreation conception of Chinese people Procreation conception refers to people’s relatively stable attitude and proposition on fertility, including the reproductive number, gender ratio, childbearing age and procreation aim. It changes greatly with the development of society. In ancient times when human lacked the basic food and medical service to survive, their most important mission was perpetuating the families by giving birth to children as many as possible . Consequently, people were encouraged to get married as early as possible when people’s average life time were only thirty or so and boys were preferred to girls for they were believed to be the root of the family. Females were thought to be only tools for reproduction. After the establishment of the republic of china, especially after the implementation of the birth control policy, people especially urban residents were forced to decrease the number of children delivered to one whether they were willing to or not when our country realized that large amount of population would only push us into poverty . The notation that boys are better than girls began to shake and females were getting rid of the destiny of living for procreation as their social status rose. In addition, the young usually got married in their twenties then. Nowadays , with the rapid development of economy, people’s conception changes significantly. They attach more importance to the condition they can provide to foster their children rather than the number or the gender of the children. Females’ pursuit of success of career reduces their desire for giving birth to children. For instance, many female doctors even have no boyfriend in their thirties, let alone the child. In conclusion, the procreation conception of Chinese people varies in consistent with the economic development, medical treatment condition and social values. 本文来源:https://www.wddqw.com/doc/420a914eaf45b307e87197d7.html
