小圈与大圈︱The Small Circle and the Big Circle The only way for a boy coming from a rural family to go out of the countryside is to rely on reading, or knowledge, and I have come in this way. Knowledge can change the destiny,and I hold this belief, never changing my mind. But how hard and rough the road is, only one’s personal experience can tell. In a materialistic and money-mad times, reading was destined to be a different kind of scenery. Because there was no immediate and material change, I was once blamed or even reprimanded by my wife, which I could endure and understand her intentions and her own difficulties. To a destitute couple nothing goes well. After all, poverty is our tangible pain. The ideal future, perhaps beautiful, cannot bring anything tangible in the present. Ideal and future are the big circle, and the reality is the small one. People staying in the small cirlce cannot see, or realise the broad and profound world outside, indulging in self-delusion and, like the frog at the bottom of a well, failing to know how big the world above is. My opinion about the Small Circle and the Big Circle has been ridiculed and dismissed by my wife. Although staying in the small circl, I always think of the big thing, that’s to improve themselves, rise to a higher level, and enter the big circle. Self satisfaction, indulging in the joy over one’s success, drifting along and following the prescribed order, all these can be referred to as “the comfort zone”. Stability and security won’t develop your character. In order to grow and get out of your comfort zone, you have to explore the unknown things. When you finally leave your comfort zone, you’ll discover new talents and passions, you’ll try new things and you’ll start growing like a flower. This way, you’ll get to know yourself better and find new things you love to do. Besides this, you’ll meet new people, opinions and cultures, and your mind will open. When you live the same daily routine, your life is automatic, but once you leave your small circle, your mind will be activated and you’ll see things more clearly. By trying new things and things you’re afraid of, your self-esteem will grow. It’s normal to be afraid to do something you’ve never done before, but when you do it, it will be worth it! Amazing things will start happening to you, you’ll gather stories to tell your friends and family and you will surely be a more interesting person. Lastly, you will evolve spiritually and emotionally more than you can imagine. When you open your wings to fly, you allow other cultures and ideas to enter your life, and you will have a lot to learn. The world is an open book and your only task is to read it, to learn new lessons every day. Once you do this, your life will be so much better. 一个农村孩子能够从农村走出来，唯一的出路就是靠读书，或者说靠知识，而我就是这样一步步走来。笃信知识能够改变命运，且抱着这样的信念矢志不移，初心不改。 可这条路到底有多么艰难，多么坎坷和崎岖不平，唯有亲身经历者方知其中滋味。 在那个物欲横流，一切向钱看的时代，读书注定是一道别样的风景。因为没有急功近利和物质上的改变，因为读书，曾遭受过妻子的唠叨、埋怨，甚至训斥，而我能够忍耐且能体谅妻子的本意和苦衷。毕竟，穷困才是我们看得见摸得着的疼痛，贫贱夫妻百事哀啊。那理想未来，也许美好动听，在当下却摸不着望不见。 理想未来那是大圈，世俗的现实只是小圈。生活在小圈里的人看不到，也意识不到外面大圈的广阔和深远，还陶醉在自我的小圈子中沾沾自喜，如井底之蛙，不知上面的世界有多大。 我的小圈与大圈宏论，曾被妻子耻笑而不屑一顾。因为虽处于小圈之中，我却时时想着大一点的圈子，那就是提升自己，上升到一个更高的层次，进入到一个更大的圈子中。 自我满足，自我陶醉，得过且过，一切按部就班，也可以称之为“安乐窝”了。舒适、安逸不会培养一个人的性格，要想成长，走出小圈子，你必须探索未知的事物。 离开了自己的小圈子，你会发现自己身上新的才能和激情，你会尝试新的事物，会像花儿一样开始成长。 通过这种方式，你会更加清楚地认识自己，找到自己喜欢做的事情，而且你还会结识更多的人，接触不同的观点和文化，你会脑洞大开。 如果你每天都重复做着同样的事情，你的生活就会变得机械，思维模式就会僵化。可是，一旦迈进新的领域，思维就会活跃起来，你就能更加清晰地看待问题。 尝试新事物，尝试你怯于做的事情，你就赢得自尊。干一件你从未干过的事情，有点胆怯，这是正常的。当你一旦下了决心去做，回过头来看，那一定是值得你这样做。 各种令人惊叹的事情会发生在你的身上，对你的朋友、家人，你也有了谈话的资本，你一定会成为一个有趣的人的。 你在精神和情感上的跨越会超出你的想象，你张开了翅膀飞翔，也就让其它文化和思想进入了你的生活，你也就有了许多要学习的东西。 世界是一本敞开的书，你唯一的任务就是每天要学习新的课程，不断成长为一个更好、更善良的人。 一旦你这样做了，你的人生一定会更美好。 本文来源：https://www.wddqw.com/doc/a41cec29dd80d4d8d15abe23482fb4daa58d1d26.html
