In my mind, there are several aspects included in building a harmonious society. First, a harmonious society has democracy in its politics to ensure the maximum benefits of the people. Second, a harmonious society has equality and justice to protect the rights of every citizen. Third, a harmonious society has good faith and friendly relation between people to create a favorable atmosphere for living and doing business. Forth, a harmonious society has energy to make sure its creativity. Fifth, a harmonious society has stability and order to provide people with a comfortable environment. Sixth, a harmonious society has harmony between humankind and nature for a sustainable development of economy. To be true, it needs joint efforts of every person in China to realize this great goal. For me, I am a student in college. What I can do is develop good relations with people around me, help others as much as possible, spread this awareness to as many people as possible, laying a foundation for this tall building. 范文二 College Students and Mobile Phone With the development of telecommunication technology and economy, more and more people become appreciating the convenience of mobile phone. We may notice that the number of college students using mobile phone around us is increasing drastically every year. One reason is that the price of mobile phone, together with communication fee is decreasing year by year. Almost every one can afford it. In addition, mobile phone manufacturers periodically promote newly developed mobile phones, such as color-screen mobile phone, can-listen-mp3 mobile phone etc., which as a matter of fact stimulate the purchasing desire of potential users, especially college students. For instance, mobile phone noise is always irritating when it unexpectedly rings in the classroom where many students are concentrating on study. Moreover, mobile phone expense increases students’ economic burden, which they originally can use to buy some reference books. Undoubtedly, everything has its advantage and disadvantage, just like “every blade has its two edges”. Given the aspect of convenience, personally, I think it is recommendable that college students use mobile phone in this information era. 范文三 Can computers replace teachers in our school education? In recent decades, the use of various types of computers has enjoyed great popularity in many aspects of our lives, with no exception in the field of education. Therefore, some people maintain that teachers are no longer as important as they used to be in the classroom since computers can function more efficiently than humans. However, to my way of thinking, computers can’t be substituted for teachers in our education. The first and most obvious reason is that there are certain subjects in school education where computers can’t be employed as a teaching tool. Take physical exercise for example. It is one of the disciplines in which teachers are playing a vital role in giving on-the-spot instructions and demonstrations of how outdoor sports and activities are played and organized. Another important reason why computers can’t replace teachers in the classroom is that teaching is, by nature, a very flexible and creative business which is unlikely to be conducted by an electronic device. Confronted with students of different attitudes, capacities and temperaments, it is the teacher, rather than a computer, that can adopt different approaches and adjust his teaching methods constantly to meet students’ needs and achieve positive results. Furthermore, there is a third reason, which lies in the fact that teachers can give their students emotional support whereas computers hardly know what emotion is. To sum up, education, or the art of teaching, is not a mechanical matter that can be parceled out to students by computer programs. Teachers, as they have always been, will still be the backbone of our school education while computer is simply a useful tool to improve students’ understanding. 范文四 Can Money Buy Happiness? Can money buy happiness? Various people have various answers. Some people think that money is the source of happiness. With money, one can buy whatever he enjoys. With money, one can do whatever he likes. So, in their minds, money can bring comfort, security, and so on. Money, as they think, is the source of happiness. But there are still a lot of others who think that money is the root of all evil. Money drives people to steal, to rob, and to break the law. A lot of people became criminals just because they were in search of money. And in the Western countries, there is nothing that can’t be bought by money. Many people lose their own lives when hunting it. I think that money is essential to life and we cannot do without money. But even though money is necessary to life, it can’t buy happiness. Happiness is not something that can be measured by money. It is a state of mind. One can have plenty of money, with which he can buy whatever he wants, and at the same time he is not happy because he is never satisfied or he is troubled by various kinds of problems. Therefore, although money is necessary for a happy life, it can’t buy happiness. 范文五 Should women give up their jobs as to reduce world unemployment? In an attempt to solve the problem of climbing unemployment rates around the world, some people assert that women, especially after they have been married, should sacrifice their careers for their families and resume their traditional roles of housewife. In my opinion, this is utter nonsense because both males and females enjoy the same right to develop his or her talents by working at a job. First, the proposal for women going back to home treats females as intellectually inferior to males. Assigning women to their ancient role of taking care of the family, is a reflection of sexual discrimination. Therefore, the stereotypical attitude of excluding women from the workforce must be abandoned. Besides, the soaring unemployment rates should be regarded as a chronic and complicated social problem, and a combined product of increasing automation in industries and the economic recession worldwide. Female participation in work is anything but the root cause. In other words, it is the shrinking demand for labor that has determined the unemployment of many skilled workers. Therefore, it is absolutely ridiculous to think that putting women back into the position of homemakers may serve as a solution to unemployment. In summary, the suggestion that women should give up their jobs to fulfill their domestic duties and reduce world unemployment is quite illogical and sexually prejudiced. On the contrary, the best way to fight unemployment is to encourage females to pursue any career they are interested in. 范文六 Talent Shows on TV Should Be Kept Television, as one medium of communication, contributes to the popularity of talent shows. Young faces conveying acute disappointment or even overwhelming joy might flash across the screen immediately upon you turning on the TV. And talent shows on TV have become a hot topic. Personally, I think the advantages of talent shows on TV outweigh its disadvantages. Even though there are still quite a few people who regard talent shows on TV as meaningless, a waste of time and a threat to intelligence, the advantages of the shows are obvious to some people. For one thing, in terms of business, the increasing popularity of talent shows has helped the channels in generating huge revenues by way of advertising and promotions. For another, talent show also bring great pleasure and excitement to viewers’ lives. We often see young and old alike being glued to their TV sets afraid of missing the next wave of emotions. Talent shows serve to enrich our life, making us relaxed and excited at the same time.
