The little prince The little prince is a small fairy tale written by Antoine de Saint-Exupery. It’s mainly telling a journey that a child who has special talent to pass through the surface of things and found its essence. He can see the pilot to he painted outfit in a wooden box of sheep and be python swallow to belly elephant. The prince loves his roses, but felt disappointed by something the rose really are. So he decided to a journey to explore other planets. In other planets, he had met a king, a vanity man, a drunkard, a businessman, a lamplighter and a geographer. Then he finally came to earth. On the earth, the little prince discovered that his rose was not the only one of its kind, there were thousands of roses in a garden, but he finally realized that his rose was special “because it is she that I have watered; because it is she that I have put under the glass globe; because it is she that I have sheltered behind the screen”. The fox teaches the little prince “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eyes and you are responsible for your rose.” So he decided to go back to his rose by bite of a snake. At the end the author doesn’t tell us the ending directly. Maybe it’s more significant for us to imagine. Through the description of people who the little prince met in his journey, we can realize the value of life, which is adulthood can’t see and easy to ignore.
