【第一篇：How to save wild animals】

Animals are people's friends. But many wild animals are facing the danger of dying out(灭绝)，because the environment that they are living in has changed greatly. For example, their living area is becoming narrower(狭窄的) and narrower because of the development of cities and pollution. They have no room to live in except the zoo.(除了动物园,它们没地方可住了) And many wild animals now can't find enough food to eat. At the same time, man is killing off(杀尽) animals just for getting their fur, skin, teeth and meat.

　　People should realize how serious the situation is and something should be done to protect(保护) the animals. We are supposed to set up some nature reserves(自然保护区), so that animals can live freely. Besides, people should not be allowed to kill the endangered animals or eat their meat. We should do something to make our world cleaner. Fresh air, clean water and grass are all important for animals. The death of the endangered animals will bring a disaster(灾难) to human beings.(人类)

【第二篇：Volleyball player Zhao Ruirui】

Zhao Ruirui, 1.97 meters tall, was the tallest player in the Women's Volleyball World Cup in 2003. Thanks to her baby face, she was also the most beautiful player.

　　But, more importantly, she was also the Cup's best player! She attacked quickly, scored lots of points, and was a great striker(扣球手).

　　“She is young, but she's already an excellent attacker,” says Chen Zhonghe, the team's head coach.

　　Being tall sometimes makes Zhao's life difficult. The 25-year-old girl finds it hard to buy trousers long enough. And sometimes people think she's a boy.

　　Still, she would never want to be short. “It's a pity I can't grow any taller,” she says.“I hope to be even taller, so I would be a better player.”

　　Zhao works very hard to be good at volleyball. But when she's not training, she likes to listen to pop songs and she likes drawing.

　　She was very pleased to win the Cup. “I want to be the best volleyball player in the world,” she said. “I still have a long way to go.”

【第三篇：The School of the Future】

The fast development of technology has made many changes in our daily life. For the students in a public high school in Philadelphia, the change is really great. Their so-called “The School of the Future” opened recently with the help of Microsoft Corp. The combination(结合) of the latest technology and teaching methods makes it the focus in the world.

　　It took the School District of Philadelphia $ 63 million to build the “one of the most advanced high schools”. It is free and has no entrance exams. All the 170 students were picked by an open lottery from 1,500 applicants（申请者）. 95% of the students are blacks and about 85% are from low income(收入) families.

　　In the school, the students still sit in classrooms, but they work on their laptops. Instead of textbooks, their lessons rely mostly on information found on the Internet. Students can learn at their own steps. They do their homework on computers and send it to the teachers for marking. Parents can check their children's study on the Net at home.

　　The School of the Future is not out of reach. The CEO of the school district said, “This is how school of today can and should be designed and developed to prepare students for life and work.”
