Fidelity, responsibility or devotion As the different regions and culture make different influences on people, everyone may have various opinions on one thing such as the fidelity. In western countries, fidelity is considered as devotion while it is regarded as a responsibility in China. Family is an important concept to Chinese, so they are more willing to gather all the family members together to solve the problems as well as share the happiness. Thus, raising the children and supporting the old parents are the responsibilities that all the citizens should bear in mind. China's law clearly provides that adult offspring have the obligation to provide for their parents. If children fail to perform their duty, parents who are unable to work or have difficulties in providing for themselves shall have the right to demand support payments from their children. So it is obvious that supporting the elderly is the Chinese traditional virtue. We are required to take good care of and respect both our parents and all elderly people. As for Chinese, fidelity is a way to show your high sense of responsibilities. However, the western people prefer to pay more attention to the society. If they face difficulties, they will turn to the government instead of asking their parents for help. In western countries, parents can stop bringing up their children when they attain the age of 18. Similarly, the young needn’t give money to their aged as the government will provide the aged with enough money. In order not to cause conflicts, many young couples will not choose to live with their parents. It seems that the whole families all live their own life. So filial behaviors in western countries which may be praised for devotion are not as strong as in Asian .It is easy for you to see that the national policies can also make a great effect on the thoughts of people. 。 本文来源:https://www.wddqw.com/doc/1348b21a6edb6f1aff001f87.html
