As a transfer student, you will apply directly to one particular major, and will be able to list a second choice major on your application. One essay of no more than 300 words is required in the application. Explain your motivation to transfer from your current/previous institution and how your academic interests and/or professional goals will be fulfilled in your intended program of study. List of Activities, Work Experience, Community Service, & Honors/Awards. List the most important and meaningful experiences you’ve had and honors earned for each question. Application Fee. Please submit a nonrefundable $50 application fee ($60 for international applicants), payable to the University of Illinois, or a completed fee waiver from your college’s financial aid office. If you are a student at the University of Illinois at Chicago or the University of Illinois at Springfield, you do not need to submit an application fee. Transcripts. We need official transcripts from your current institution, and each postsecondary institution that you have attended and earned grades. It is also required to send an official final transcript from your high school or official GED results to verify graduation. Please request that official transcripts be sent from your secondary and postsecondary institution directly to the Office of Transfer Undergraduate Admissions when you apply. If you have not graduated from high school or earned an equivalent diploma, you need to apply as a freshman. Official test scores. It’s required that you send us a standardized test score if you have less than 30 graded transferable semester hours of college coursework at the time of application: ACT (code 1154) or SAT 1 (code 1836) scores are accepted. The writing component of the ACT is required if you graduated high school in 2008 or later. It is highly recommended to submit test scores if you have 30-59 graded credit hours.
