As is vividly depicted in the portrayal, wearing a suit of traditional Chinese costume, an ancient man is opening his mouth and shouting ,''speaking'' and a much smaller Chinese character,''action'' is hidden behind his back. And below the drawing, there is a topicwhich says,''Action speaks louder than words.'' Obviously, the purpose of the caricature is to subtly illustrate that the importance of actions Several reasons can explain this. First and foremost, it is a virtue of the Chinese people, just like SimaGuang the noted litterateur of Chinese in the Northern Song or Earlier Song Dynasty。said,"Action speaks louder than words."Furthermore, taking actionsplays a crucial role in success.Without actions, no matter how many plansone has made,he or she will never get close to success. Last but not least, it is necessary for adolescents to adapt to the society.only through actions, instead ofunrealistic words, can we exist in the fiercely competitive society. From the previous discussions, I maintain that it is for us to take actions, just like the old saying goes,"Action speaks louder than words." As is known to us all, the most precious thing in the world is nothing but “today”. Therefore, it is necessary and significant for us to manage our time efficiently. There are some suggestions and methods to manage our time. First, the most important thing is to know and understand how we have spent and managed our time before. Only in this way can we know in which we have wasted our time. We can do this by sorting out all things we do every day and then select the necessary thing and the wasted time. Second, after the first step, what we should do is choosing the correct time. As the saying goes, “to choose time is to save time”. For one thing, we have to know and understand that which period we have more efficiency and have better quality in work or study so that we know how to make our schedule. For another, it is better to do the most important and urgent thing first in that we barely have enough time to finish all task within a day. Last but not the least, it is valuable to take full advantage of our leisure time tiny pieces of time. For example, we can do some reading when we are waiting for a bus, or we can practice our listening on our way to school. To sum up, time, like water in sponge, can be squeezed out if we like. Therefore, take full use of our time in that it is essential to lead a full and happy life. On Illusion Some people are committed to their dreams andwork hard to achieve their goals. What is guidingthem is akind of illusion. Some people think thatillusion is good for success while others argue thatit is not sogood because it may get peopleunrealistic. As far as I am concerned, illusion isnecessary in our life only if it is encouraging andrealistic. There are several reasons.First of all, there is power in illusion. The illusion can lead peopleto thepath they want to go on and it gives us passion. We need to live each momentwholeheartedly, with all our senses so that we can find pleasure in the fragrance of backyardgarden, the crayoned picture of a six-year-old, and the enchanting beauty of a rainbow. The illusion can be enthusiastic love of life that puts sparkle in our eyes, a lilt in our stepsandsmoothes the wrinkles from our souls. Secondly, we are born with wide-eyed, enthusiastic wonder as anyone knows who has everseen an infant‘s delight at the jingle of keys or the scurrying of a beetle. It is this childlikewonder and illusion that gives enthusiastic people such a youthful air, no matter how oldthey are. For example, the famous cellist Pablo Casals would start his day by playing Bach.As the music flowed through his fingers, his stooped shouldrs would straighten and joywould reappear in his eyes. Music, for him, was an elixir that made life a never-endingadventure. As author and poet Samuel Ullman once wrote,“Years wrinkle the skin, but togive up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul.” Lastly, people with illusions also love what they do, regardless of money or power or title. Ifwe cannot do what we love as a full-time career, we can as do a part-time vocation, likethe head of state who paints, the nun who runs marathons and the executive who handcraftsfurniture. We cannot afford to waste tears and energy and time on “might-have-beens”.We need to turn the tears into sweat as we go after “what-can-be”.
