Teacher plays an important role in everyone's path to growth. They not only teach us knowledge but also tell us how to be a good person. Some people believe that a serious and strict teacher will lead to study more effectively. While others argue that a humorous and easy-going teacher will gain more achievement for get along well with students. In my opinion, I favor of the latter view for the following reasons.
On the one hand, a teacher who is humorous and easy-going will stimulate students' interests in studying. Compared with serious teachers who just teach student knowledge from the books, humorous teachers will use lots of vivid examples and jokes to make tedious knowledge become interesting. Moreover, students will gain better understanding though these examples and jokes. Take me as an example. When I was in senior high school, I met a humorous math teacher. I did not like math before, but the teacher often used a humorous way to explain complex knowledge. Gradually I found that math was not as difficult as I thought before and eventually math became my strengths. Therefore, once students are interested in studying, they will get twice the result with half the effort.
On the other hand, students communicate better with easy-going teachers. When students ask a question, easy-going teachers always answer the question patiently and encourage students to carry on. On the contrary, strict teachers may be reluctant to answer or blame students for listen carelessly on class. Obviously, what strict teachers do will dampen students’ enthusiasm of asking question and make students lose interests in the subject. Thus, a good relationship between teacher and student is good for students obtain confidence and learn more efficiently.
From all those reasons above, I think a humorous and easy-going teacher is more effective than a serious and strict teacher. For one thing, they teach students in a flexible way which makes learning not only easier but also full of fun. For another, they always make students have confidence in themselves.
