Nick Vujicic: Attitude is Altitude Nick Vujicic was born in Melbourne, Australia on December 4th, 1982. As is often the case, a new-born infant will bring happiness and joy to the whole family. However, nick was born without limbs, which made his father disgusting at first and his mother dared to hold him four months later. Nevertheless, his parents didn’t abandon him. On the contrary, they expected him to live a normal life as common people. When he was only 18 months old, his father began to put him in the water, encouraging and teaching him to swim. At the age of 6, he learned to type with the two toes that he solely owns by the help of his father, a programmer. As he grew old, he was sent to a local primary school to study. Without parents’ company, he was hard to avoid being bullied. He suffered despair and even committed himself to suicide but failed. Not until he read an article on a newspaper about the story of a handicapped man’s struggles did he realize the goal of his life. Afterwards, when he reflect on the tough experience, he said it’s the hard time that taught him independence. Apart from grasping the basic skills, such as brushing teethes, surfing and playing golf, he surprisingly achieved the accounting and financial planning double-bachelor degrees! For his braveness and perseverance, he was nominated “Young Australian of the Year” award which is a great honor in Australia, recognizing a young person for their excellence and service to their local community and the nation, as well as their own personal accomplishments. Nick started to deliver lectures at the age of 17 and he has been to 35 countries and regions so far. From no limbs to no limits, Nick creates a life miracle. Although he did encounter frustration and even deep self-abasement, he conquered them eventually. What he impresses me most is his extraordinary optimism. No limbs can be a great obstacle for everyone. However, he pokes fun at himself for that “no arms, no legs, no worries”. “Attitude is altitude”——He put considerable emphasis on attitude being the most powerful weapon we have at our disposal. Nick proved through his own life that the major keys in accomplishing our biggest dreams are persistence and choosing to embrace failure as a learning experience, rather than allowing the guilt and fear of failure to paralyze us. That’s his attitude towards life and undoubtedly he creates a great altitude. We sound people have more advantages than Nick, whereas most of us may not be as successful as him. At least, we are content with mediocrity and dare not to dream big. So, please follow your heart and 本文来源:https://www.wddqw.com/doc/58977b18a8114431b90dd89b.html
