Example Personal Statement A During the last two years I have developed a very strong interest in business management. I have been fascinated by the corporate world since my period of work experience at the end of Year 11. I spent two weeks at Ernst and Young and knew immediately that this was the type of environment in which I would thrive. My understanding of the complex management and organisational issues has developed greatly throughout my A Level course, and I feel well equipped to align this with sound financial knowledge and acumen which has developed as a direct result of my Economics AS level. Whilst I would have wished to carry this on to full A level, this would have required me to discontinue my musical studies, in which I have a great personal investment. In order to continue my development in the financial sector, I have arranged to return to Ernst and Young to work in their financial services department over the coming summer vacation. I am sure that once again this will be a valuable experience. I have always enjoyed applying my knowledge and skills within the workplace, and am therefore greatly excited by the prospect of undertaking a Sandwich degree. I feel a placement year is essential in order to leave university prepared for the business world. Without the knowledge of practical application, the theoretical issues surrounding business and management cannot be effectively assessed or criticised. This certainly proved to be the case during my experience in the Young Enterprise scheme, where the group who had the better practical application of their business plan succeeded far better than the remainder. I am exceedingly computer literate and have undertaken extra studies to develop skills in HTML and web-authoring packages (such as Dreamweaver), and design software (Photoshop). I have used these skills to design a website that showcases another great interest of mine: collecting football stickers. Whilst this does not immediately strike you as the most intelligent of hobbies, collecting football stickers, and completing the albums has been a passion of mine since my father bought me my first album for the 1990 World Cup. As well as presenting archives of previous completed sets of stickers, I have added an innovative section that allows collectors from across the country to advertise ‘swaps’ so they can trade with other fans nationally. At present the site is building a strong community of users, and I envisage further growth, especially once I place advertisements in football magazines. I am also working up a business plan that presents an opportunities assessment detailing options for income generation from advertising on my site, which will allow me to market the site through match day programmes for professional football clubs, thus increasing visits to the site. I am therefore especially interested in the e-business and online marketing elements of the course, and it is in this area that I would wish to forge a career upon completing my degree, as I see it as a vital and challenging area that will be at the centre for all businesses in the future. I feel that this presents the opportunity and challenge for me to realise my potential. Example Personal Statement B I am a bright, intelligent person with a lively and outgoing personality that continually places me at the centre of things both within the classroom and beyond. I approach my studies in the same way that I do life: boldly and with a sense of fun. It is this innate enjoyment of life and all that it has to offer that propels me forwards aiming to complete new challenges and achieve the best that I possibly can. I have always wanted to attend university, both to test myself against the most rigorous of academic standards and to experience the array of extra-curricular activities that it offers. I have developed a very focused interest in all round fitness, which sees me attend a gym three times a week and compete in the school rugby first XV team. I spent two seasons captaining the second team before extra work in the weights room allowed me to become a vital part of the first team. I had originally been judged too small to compete at that level, but this set back served only to provide me with extra motivation to raise my performance and physical condition. Not only has this confirmed my full colours award and improved my fitness, but it hasn’t hurt with the ladies either! I also play tennis and football to a high recreational standard, and enjoy pool and snooker as well as developing a reputation as a pub quiz fanatic. My high level of general knowledge frequently results in victory, and if only I could convince Paxman to move University Challenge into the Red Lion or Farrier and Firkin, I think I would be able to take on any Oxbridge college for the title. Certainly my interest in the courses I intend to study is far more than just a ‘starter for ten’. I have been committed to pursuing a course that will allow me to make the best use of my strong organisational and time management skills and keen commercial and financial awareness. I gained valuable financial experience running a book making enterprise during the recent World Cup (as I am not a licensed bookmaker, I would appreciate it if you could keep this confidential). I used the proceeds of this enterprise to fund the organisation of a five-a-side ‘World Cup’ tournament at the school. Held over the course of a week this was a great event that captured the imagination of the whole school, from the team of rugby props representing Argentina (in lovely netball skirts and vests!), to the PE staff who were beaten in the final by a last minute volley to the top corner. Ultimately, I have simple aims in life: to be a multi-millionaire, own a Ferrari and a first division football club, and marry a supermodel. But I fully intend to make the most of my time at university first. Example Personal Statement C After thoroughly researching my options at university, my mind has been fixed on a course in Business. The general use of a degree course in this area will allow me access to a broad range of jobs after I finish and as I am not certain about the career path I would like to take, this will be beneficial to me. I have worked in a local convenience store for almost two years, and have seen many aspects of the business. Initially I was only involved in the customer service and re-stocking aspects, but have become more involved taking responsibility for cashing up and I am often left alone to look after the store. I have been a prefect and so have been responsible for younger students and their behaviour. This also involved me in the school memorial service for those who died in the World Wars. I have used computers a lot and am confident using word processors, having used them for much of my coursework.. I also regularly use computers in my spare time. I am a committed and reliable person, having missed very few days of school or work, those that I did miss were due to illness. I have always been motivated and always try to make sure my work is completed by the deadlines and to a high quality. I have a strong interest in jazz and always attend a local jazz night. I tried to learn the saxophone, but was unable to find a regular teacher. This is something I hope to get into again at university. I read and enjoy spending time with different social groups. I also get involved in sport and have played football, tennis, rugby, and hockey. I enjoy swimming and going to the gym as well. 本文来源:https://www.wddqw.com/doc/8e6800100b4e767f5acfce2e.html
