中英文化交流与翻译,下载英语- When communicating with people from different cultures, it is important to remember that culture and communication are strongly connected. The way that people view communication—what it is, how to do it, and reasons for doing it—is part of their culture. The chance of misunderstanding between members of different cultures increases when this important connection is forgotten in modern society. Given the fact that Chinese has a preference over active voice while English prefers passive voice in writing, there are some techniques in the translation of voice between Chinese and English. The purpose of this thesis is more than stating translation skills in terms of voice usage; moreover, it is to uncover the cultural differences mirrored from such divergence, and to dig deeper from the surface. It will focus on the cultural and historical respects in English and Chinese society so as to find the reasons that caused the voice usage differences. Hopefully, this thesis will find a new ground.
