Step 1 Warming up & Revision 1. Greet the class.

2. Practice oral communication. Talk about your father.

My father is a fisherman. He works at sea. He goes to work by car. He catches fish at sea. He goes to work at 8:30 a.m. He likes playing sports and reading. He often plays sports with his friends.

Step 2 Presentation & Practice

1. Talk about different jobs in pairs. Then discuss in the small groups how to memorize the jobs.

Add er/ r/ or/ ist/ man/ woman after some words. 2. Look at picture 1 and ask.

What does Hu Bin like? Where does he work?

Lead the Ss to answer He likes sports or playing football. He is

good at football, ping-pong and basketball. If you like sports, what are you going to be?




3. Look at picture 2 and ask.

What does Sarah like? Can she type very quickly? Where does she work? If you can type quickly, what are you going to be? 4. Look at picture 3 and ask.

Do you want to be a scientist like Wu Yifan’s grandpa? Do you want to work in a university? If you like science, what are you going to be?

5. Watch the video and read together.

6. Read and choose a title for the passage. Check the answer Hobbies and jobs.

7. Read again and finish the table about hobbies, jobs and working places.

Step 3 Consolidation & Extension

1. Talk about the hobbies and ideal jobs.

eg. What’s your hobby? What can you do? What do you want to be?

2. Look and discuss. At the Real World Camp, children can try to do different jobs. Do you want to go to the camp? Remember Your parents should agree with you to go to the camp. Pay attention to the safety. 3. Read the passage fluently. 4. Do exercises.

A. Ask the questions according to the tips. B. Read and judge.

Step 4 Summary & Homework

1. Summarize the key points in this lesson. 2. Do homework.

A. Read the passage to their partners after class. B. Talk about your friends hobbies and ideal jobs. Reflection
