外国语学院英语师范(一)班 王海艳 200903074033 Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. My name is Wang Haiyan. I am from English Teaching Class One Foreign Language Department. Today, I am very glad to share my teaching design with you. And my topic is the Sporting Robot. I divide it into six parts. First is the analysis of the teaching material. This passage is the further reading of this unit. Some information and the present perfect passive voice have been learned before. According to the teaching material above , I make my teaching aims as follows. During this lesson, the students can read to get some information about the sporting robot and master some useful words and phrases. After this lesson, the students are able to practice some reading skills such as skimming, scanning and summarizing, etc. In addition to, I will lead the students to developing their ability of imagination and creation and ask them to use the computer or other high-tech properly such as making contributions to science not to lost in computer games. From it, the students are able to enjoy the sporting robot’s perseverance and learn to face problems bravely and positively. What’s more. In this lesson, I will emphasize developing the students’ the reading skills and ability of imagination and creation. Maybe it’s hard for the students to imagine or create. After all, they have not learned some professional technology about the robot. The second part is about analysis of students. The students have learned English for several years. They can use some words and sentences to express their ideas. And the topic is about high-tech which can arouse their great interest and stimulate their enthusiasm. The third part is about teaching methods and aims. During this lesson, I get help from the CTM and TBLT for my teaching. Meanwhile, use the PPT, pictures or cards to enrich the lesson. The fourth part is learning strategies. I will also let the students probe to, cooperate with each other. But they also need to think independently, and establish self-confidence through this lesson. As for the fifth part, teaching procedures. I will divide it into 5 steps. First, show a picture of doraemon, who comes to invite someone to the future world for visiting one of his friends. Doraemon tells the one that can take at most three things to the future world. Question: What do you want to take, class, if you were the lucky person? Why? Its purpose is attracting the students’ attention and leading out the next part. Ok! The second step, welcome to the future world (the 78th Olympics). First, show some pictures of all kings of robot. (These robots are used to help human beings, which lead the students to realize that they can use the computers to make contributions to the society, not lost in computer games. For instance, invent some useful things such as the meaningful robots.) And tell the students that doraemon’s friend is also a robot. Then lead the students to guess some information about the robot with some questions, such as what does he do? How does he like?... It is aimed at connecting with the passage and developing their ability of imagination and creation. And the third step, what happened to him in the 78th Olympics. Ask the students to read the whole passage quickly and try to fill some blanks of task one on page-58 with three to four minutes. As a result, the students can get the main idea of the passage. It’s aimed at practicing their skimming ability. Then the fourth step, lead the students to get more specific information about the sporting robot through paragraph by paragraph. Of course, I will give some instructions to help them such as what problems does Hua Fei get in the 78th Olympics? How does him deal with it? What does the paragraph-one tell us?... It’s aimed at practicing their scanning ability. After reading the whole passage, I will lead the students to finish the task one. Its purpose is practicing their summarizing ability. And then lead the students to read for thinking. That’s to learn something form the sporting robot such as his perseverance, courage and optimism, etc. Finally, the fifth step, I will let the students do a group work. It is the Role Play, through a interview, to get more information about the sporting robot. Its purpose is practicing the students’ speaking ability and testing what they have learned after this lesson. To some degree, it also can developing their ability of imagination. Next, the homework. Every group does a survey about high-tech, such as all kinds of robot or others they like. And show their group work (such as introducing a kind of robot like the sporting robot…)next class.
