Lesson Plan Presentation

Good morning, ladies and gentleman. My name is Wu danqian from Taizhou University. Its my pleasure to present my lesson plan here today. The lesson plan is from PEP Go for it Grade 7 Unit 6 Do you like bananas? (period one). Id like to explain it from these six aspects: the analysis of the teaching material, the theoretical basis, the teaching methods and studying ways, teaching procedure, homework and blackboard design.

I. The analysis of the teaching material

The topic of this unit is about food. This topic very is interesting and practical, so it is helpful to attract the students and improve their spoken English. And its function is about likes and dislikes. In this lesson, students will do much listening and oral practice to learn some words about food (including the countable nouns and uncountable nouns) and learn sentence patterns to talk about their likes and dislikes. There are two main teaching points that we must pay attention to. First are the key vocabularies. Second is the target language and how students can use the target language proficiently. So in order to fulfill the learning task of this lesson, I make out the following objectives: (1)Knowledge objectives

All of the students should understand the words about the food and then learn the new sentence structures. (2) Ability objectives

Students should be the real master of the class. In the class, I will encourage and help them to develop the skills of listening and speaking. Most of the students should know the countable nouns and uncountable nouns of this unit and are able to use what they learned to talk about their likes and dislikes. (3) Moral education objectives

Students can cultivate their interpersonal relations and should understand to have healthy food. . The theoretical basis

Next, I am going to talk about the theoretical basis. According to the National English Curriculum, the English Curriculum aims for promoting learner-centeredness. Therefore, its objectives, the teaching process, the assessment procedures as well as the development of teaching resources should all reflect the principle of learner-centered approach. Teachers should be flexible in using teaching methods, resources and ways of assessment so as to make teaching beneficial to all kinds of students. So in my class, I will give students more time to practice in pairs, in games and work in groups after my presentation, which can improve their learning efficiency. . Teaching methods and studying ways

Now, lets focus on the ways of teaching and learning. As we all know, the main instructional aim is to cultivate students basic abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing and their good sense of the English language. So in this lesson, I adopt the situational language teaching, communicative method, cooperation-study


method, games and so on. I will require the students to learn English independently and cooperatively. Through these methods, students are in the real situation and given more chances to participate in the classroom activities. It can improve their learning efficiency.

.Teaching procedure

Next, lets come to the most important part. That is my teaching procedure. It includes 5 steps: Step1:Warming up, Step2:Presentation and Drill, Step3: Presentation and Practice, Step4: Consolidation and use, Step5: Homework. Step1: Warming up (3 minutes)

It will cost 2 minutes. I will greet with my students. Then tell them I bring a big thing and let them guess, which can make the whole class active. Actually, its a fridge.

Step2: Presentation and Drill. (20 minutes)

It will cost 20 minutes. In this part, I will draw some pictures about the food like bananas in the fridge and lead in the words. Then we together draw a conclusion about the countable and uncountable nouns. Then I use the real pictures to play a game named quick eyes. The students get the information and read them out when I move them quickly. It can arouse the students interest and it is also a way for them to practice what they learned just now. And after games, they read them together with the pictures. Next, I will lead them to finish 1a and read them together. Then I will lead the students to do the listening 2a. I mainly help them to remember the words they learned and practice and improve their ability of listening. Step3: Presentation and Practice. (17minutes)

It will cost 15 minutes. In this step, I mainly lead in the sentence patterns. And I will guide them to practice with their partners with the new words and invite them to show it. Then I will ask them to do the listening1b. They should listen and imitate it. After that, we will play a guessing game. I will invite one student to come here to choose one picture with the food he likes. The other students ask like Do you like? The student answers when they ask the right food. Next we come to 2b to finish the listening. They listen and write and read together. Finally, I will give them a model to make a survey with their friends with the learned knowledge and show it. If the food the friends like, they can draw a smiling face, or they draw the crying face. Step4: Consolidation and Use. (5 minutes)

It will cost 5 minutes. In this part, I will guide them to draw a conclusion about what weve learned in this lesson and ask them to read together. Then I will ask them to do some exercises to check them. They aim to consolidate the knowledge and help them to establish the structures of language points. Step5: Homework

This step is to assign the homework. The first is to ask them to remember the new words and sentence patterns, preparing tomorrows dictation. The one aims to consolidate the knowledge. The second is to make a dialogue of talking about the food they like or dislike between friends or classmates and write it down. The purpose is to help the students to practice and improve their ability of speaking and writing. Step6: Blackboard design


Here comes the last part. This is my blackboard design. On the top is the title of this lesson. And I will draw some pictures about food and write some key words on the left and the sentence patterns on the right.
