1. Warm-up:

2. Pre-reading:

a. Ask the students to read the title of the story and guess what the story is about.


b. Let the students talk about what they think the surprise might be.

3. While-reading:

a. Ask the students to read the story and find out what the surprise is.

b. Let the students discuss what they think about the surprise.

4. Post-reading:

a. Ask the students to talk about what they think about the story.

b. Let the students talk about how they would react if they were in the same situation.

c. Ask the students to write a short story about their own surprise.

5. Summary:

a. Let the students summarize the story in their own words.

b. Ask the students to share their stories with the class.
