Abstract Jane Eyre is the masterpiece of Charlotte Bronte, who is a famous talented realistic woman novelist in 19th century. She is considered as an extraordinary woman writer. This thesis tells an independent and equal love story based on the heroine Jane Eyre’s life story. The novel successfully built an independent feminine image that was possessed plain look but equipped with cold brain, resolute character and a strong will. Jane had become a classic of independent women. Whether poor or rich, whether it was difficulty or favourable circumstance, Jane always possessed a beautiful soul and enriched mind and lived with independent personality and strong character to maintain the dignity of women. She realized the injustice in the society and fought every effort to resist persistently. From Jane Eyre’s looking for fairness in life, seeking economic independence, pursuit of equality when it came to love and the religious rebellion, all reflected the strong feminist consciousness and the light.
