1.汉译英 故宫的规划体现中国传统的哲学思想，建筑集中国古代宫殿建筑之大成。它的设计依据择中立宫的思想，主要建筑严格对称地排列在中轴线上。中轴线又与北京城的中轴线重合，宫殿以城市为依托，城市以宫殿为中心，突出体现帝王的至尊地位。 The planning of the Palace Museum embodies the Chinese traditional philosophy, with its architecture gathering all the essential features of the ancient Chinese palace buildings. Based on the thought of choosing the neutral position to build palaces, the designer arranged the main buildings on the central axis in strictly symmetrical orders. The palace’s central axis coincides exactly with that of Beijing city, with the citiy being the background of the palace and the palace being the center of the city, thus highlighting the supreme status of the emperor. 紫禁城分为外朝和内廷两大部分，外朝位于紫禁城南部，主要建筑包括太和殿、中和殿、保和殿，即著名的“三大殿”。太和殿是紫禁城内最高、最大的宫殿，整个大殿庄严肃穆、富丽堂皇。皇帝在太和殿会见朝臣，商讨国家事务。每年元旦、冬至、皇帝生日三大节及登基、大婚、殿试等大典，都是在这里举行的。内廷位于紫禁城北部，是皇帝和后妃居住活动的地方，主要建筑有乾清宫、交泰殿、坤宁宫，以及为数不少的佛堂、戏台、花园等。皇帝居住的院落位居内廷中轴线西边的养心殿。 The Forbidden City is divided into two main parts as the Outer Palace and the Inner Court. The Outer Palace is loacted in the southern part of the Forbidden City. It mainly consists of Taihe Palace(Hall of Supreme Harmony), Zhonghe Palace(Hall of Central Harmony), and Baohe Palace(Hall of Preserving Harmony), namely the famous “three main palaces”. Taihe Palace is the highest and largest palace within the Forbidden City, and it is not only solemn and serene but also magnificent. In the Hall of Supreme Harmony, the emperor meets the courtiers to discuss national affairs. Three festivals, the New Year’s day, the Winter Solstice and the emperor’s birthday, and such grant ceremonies as the enthronement, the wedding ceremony and the palace examination, are held in the Hall of Supreme Harmony. The Inner Court lies in the northern part of the Forbidden City, also functioning as the place where the emperors and queens live. It mainly includes Qianqing Palace(Palace of Heavenly Purity), Jiaotai Palace(Hall of Union), Kunning Palace(Palace of Earthly Tranquility), and a tremendous number of family halls for worshipping the buddha, drama stages, and gardens. The courtyard in which the emperor lives is situated in Yangxin Palace(Hall of Mental Cultivation), the west of the Inner Court’s axis. 2.英译汉 The Waipara Valley, one of New Zealand’s most exciting winemaking destinations, is small in size (around 2,000 acres) but big on quality production. There are some 80 vineyards here, most of them independently owned, squeezed between the snow-covered Southern Alps to the west and the Teviot Hills, a craggy line of high ground topped by steep bluffs, to the east.
