If you are a computer-security researcher, though, it is a little worrying. For, as owners of desktop computers are all too aware, the internet is a two-way street. Once a device is online, people other than its owners may be able to connect to it and persuade it to do their bidding.

　　这个段落包含五个小句，同时在这五个小句中，一些语法知识也是大家要注意到的！（加粗加黑部分）

　　第一个句子中，标黑的部分“marketing”在句中置于介词in之后，为介宾结构，这样一来不难推导出，此处的marketing使用的是其名词词性的意思，即“营销，销售”；great一词虽然常见且经常被视为表达“好”意思的万能词，但是其应用到考研英语写作当中时总会有不同于一般“妖艳贱货”的“好”。

　　第二个句子的主干为being able to do A , B or C is a good way to do sth；且在这个动名词短语作主语的句子中，谓语动词为单数；在主语中，作者还嵌套了一个宾语从句“say that you are running out of orange juice”；在句子的表语之后，非谓语动词不定式结构作定语（同位结构）；

　　第三个句子中，“a little worrying”在进行翻译处理的时候，既可以翻译为“一点担忧”，也可以译为“不容乐观”；类似这样的翻译处理在考研英语中很常见，各位不如在自己曾经做过的题中去搜索一下吧！

　　第四个句子中的“for”，在这里为并列连词，句式调整后则可以变为“for the internet is a two-way street，as owners of desktop computers are all too aware”（for 为并列连词，表较弱的原因），而句中as可以理解为“作为”，即作为台式电脑的用户；

　　第五个句子中，once在句中，引导时间状语从句，表示时间上的两个动作或两件事彼此紧接着发生,同时带有条件意味，且other than 也是考研英语中比较结构经常考查的一个知识点，表“除了”；

　　接下来，我们看一下这个段落的汉语意思（对比一下翻译吧）：

　　（2）如果你从事市场工作，这是一个极好的点子。告知用户从电视机上就能浏览网页，在办公室就能打开洗衣机或者通过给冰箱发送邮件传达信息告知橙汁已经用完了，这是一个销售更多电视机、洗衣机以及电冰箱的好点子。但如果你是一位计算机安全研究员，可能会有一点担忧。作为台式电脑的用户对网络是一把双刃剑这一点太了解了。一旦设备与网络网络连接，其他非设备拥有者可能通过网络将其连接并向其下达指令。
