教育公平：equality of education opportunity, equal access to education Nowadays, one of the pressing problems facing our nation today is inequality of education opportunity in some rural areas, which has aroused much public concern. There are to my mind, plenty of contributing causes, among which, the following ones are particularly worth mentioning. First and foremost, the distribution of resources is unbalanced between rural and urban schools. That is to say, urban students have more access to advanced teaching facilities. Besides, educational loans for poor students are far from enough. As a matter of fact, the high tuition fees are heavy burdens on millions of low-income families. Hence, students from poor families are deprived of the right to go to universities because of the high tuition fees. To tackle this problem, the crucial task of our society is to invest more in education, especially in rural schools.
