This course also seeks to help students master standard pronunciation and intonation on the basis of sufficient understanding of content of the textbook. The students are supposed to learn certain background knowledge of Japanese culture and overcome common difficulties in Japanese listening so as to improve their Japanese. Content of this course include, while listening, identifying easily confused phonemes, words and structures, choosing key words and sentences, summarizing main idea, making inferences and predictions paraphrasing and synthesizing key points of news items.
