Teaching procedures: Step1:Warm-up 1. Greetings and free talk T:Hello,boys and girls. Ss:Hi,Miss Sheng. 2.Review the sound of letter “a” (Watch a video.) T:Boys and girls,What is the sound of letter “a”,in the song. S1:It is/æ/ The teacher show the words in Unit1 page 6,and read with student. T:Watch carefully,can you find out the similarity in these words? Ss:The letter “e”. T:Can you read the words? (make the students read) Then lead the students to read the words after me. b. Then I lead them try to spell the words. Peg, /p/ /e/ /g/,/peg/. Red,/r/ /e/ /d/,/red/. Hen,/h/ /e/ /n/,/hen/. C. Show them another picture. T: Can you try to read the sentence? I will give an example. /p/ /e/ /g/ , /peg/. Can you read it? Ss: Yes. Choose some students to spell the word. Lead the students to use the “Phonics” method to read the new words. I will use the same method to teach the past part of the story. Teaching intent: I want to use the “Phonics method”to lead the students to learn the word. And the students begin to learn the “phonetic symbol” in the second semester of Grade 3. So I use a story so that the students can be interested in this knowledge. Step 3: Practice. 1. Lead the students to watch the video. 2. Lead the student to read the story by themselves. 3. Read the new words. 4. Make new words.
