Section B (2a-2c) 卢秋燕 教学目标 知识与技能:词汇和词组:kill,Thailand, symbol,save,forget,flag,remember,lose a symbol of ,get lost, places with....,things made of ivory, in danger 过程与方法:教会学生初步运用scanning,skimming,mind-map 等阅读策略 情感态度与价值观:通过本课的学习加深学生对大象和濒危野生动物的保护意识。 学情分析 1.学生在本单元已学了相关的动物名称及特点的词汇,大象又是他们喜欢的动物,为本文的阅读提供了兴趣,但学生的总结段落大意和找文章主要意思的能力尚未形成,用mind map 构架文章主题还需大力加强。 重点难点 重点:引导学生运用合作讨论,mind map 理解掌握全文 难点:学生初步运用scanning,skimming确定段落及文章大意。 教学过程 Step1:warming- up Listen to an English song about elephants. Ask the students what animals they like and why , then show some pictures about animals and talk about their favorite animals. Step2:2a Ask the students if there are many of those animals in the world now, teach the new word endangered, then help students finish 2a report their answers. Step3: Pre-reading Show another picture teach the new words: flag ,Thailand ,Thai. Show the Thai elephant and ask the students to guess what they can do, The teacher ask the students to open the books and read paragraph 2 quickly , then tell the answers according to the sentences. At the same time, teach the new words and phrases like : forget, walk for a long time, get lost , remember ,places. Step4: While-reading 1. Students read the article silently and find out the main idea of each paragraph, then choose the best title according to the main idea. 2. Read the article aloud for three minutes and tell if the sentences are right ,if not ,coorect them. 3. Work in groups of six ,try their best to fill in the blanks of the article. Step5: After-reading Read the article again and finish the mind map of 2c Step6: summary Watch a short video of protecting the elephants and talk about their feelings.
