Lead-in(1 min) Greet the students and lead in: Good morning, boys and girls! Today we’ll know about an interesting job, Step II. Pre-reading(7 mins) 1. Show a picture ( a policeman is catching a thief) and say: T: There is a crime(show). Look at the man, what does he do? SS: A policeman T: Yes, he is a policeman. (show) But who is he? SS: He is小偷 T: Yes, do you know how to say 小偷in English? Ss: No. T: It doesn’t matter. Let me tell you.” Thief” (show), a thief usually steals something. So he is also” a criminal”. (show) Now read after me. 2. Show another picture( A policeman is talking with two men) T: Just now I say the man is a policeman, but he is a special policeman—he is a “ police artist”. (show) What do the police artists do? They usually draw pictures of the criminals.( Bb) Look at the two men, who are they? Can you guess. Ss: 证人 T: Yes, they are” witnesses”, (show) witness means a person who sees the crimes. (show). They tell the police artist what the criminals look like. 3. Now let’s know three persons, can you describe them? Show the pictures one by one and show the pattern” he is… he has…” Then ask three students to describe the persons according to the pattern, then tell them one of the three persons is the real criminal, read the article and find him out. Step III. While-reading(15 mins) 1. Skimming: ⑴Read the article quickly and find out the answers to the questions, Qs: What does the real criminal look like? Which picture shows the real criminal? What does Joe Brown do?Is his work easy or difficult? Why? ⑵Ask some students to answer the questions( they may find it hard to answer the third question, help them if necessary) 2. Scanning: ⑴Read the article again and write what the words in bold refer to. ⑵Show the reading skills. Knowing what the pronouns refer to in the reading is one of the best ways to understand the article. Step IV. After-reading(20 mins) 1. Challenge : I say you do The teacher first takes an example and asks students to draw according to the description, then show the pictures that the students draw and choose the best one.Give them five minutes to write about their best friends, then have a PK between two students.(choose three pairs) 2. Groupwork: Acting Work in groups (5 students in a group): one of the students pretends to be the police artist, two of the students are the witnesses, the other two are the criminals, but one of them is the real criminals, find him or her out. Self-reflection 本节课选自新人教版七年级下册第九单元SectionB部分的一篇阅读课。在词汇教学方面主要是通过图片展示,让学生在语境与直观中理解新词并操练已学句式,也让学生对警察画像师产生了兴趣,为新课做好铺垫同时也很好地过渡到本课的重点。在阅读中主要安排了skimming与scanning并在其中布置了一些阅读任务,学生通过完成任务对文章重点信息基本已掌握。在scanning过程中,主要学习了解英语阅读中很重要的一种阅读技巧---指代推断,掌握指代推断在文中所指可更好地理解文章。在读后任务中主要是两个任务:一是挑战,二是小组合作表演,为了进一步巩固语法基础知识,并正确使用has与be动词来描述人物的外貌特征,培养学生运用语言能力,让他们在语境中操练重点句型,同时也让他们了解police artist这个职业的趣味interesting but difficult。这节课也有不足之处,首先课堂气氛还不够活跃,同学们比较拘束,其次在表演过程中同学们还会犯一些低级错误,所以在下一节课中还要进一步强调出现的问题,可以让他们做一些汉英翻译。 本文来源:https://www.wddqw.com/doc/cb378a7df31dc281e53a580216fc700aba68524b.html
