诗译英 ▏腹有诗书气自华 赋得古原草送别 (Grass) 白居易Bai Juyi 离 离 原 上 草， Wild grasses spread over ancient plain, 一 岁 一 枯 荣。 With spring and fall they come and go. 野 火 烧 不 尽， Fire tries to burn them up in vain, 春 风 吹 又 生。 They rise again when spring winds blow. 远 芳 侵 古 道， Their fragrance overruns the way. 晴 翠 接 荒 城。 Their green invades the ruined town. 又 送 王 孙 去， To see my friend going away, 萋 萋 满 别 情。 My sorrow grows like grass overgrown. —— 许渊冲 译 【注释】 赋得：借古人诗句或成语命题作诗。 离离：青草茂盛的样子。 芳:指野草那浓郁的香气。 远芳：草香远播。 侵:侵占，长满。 远芳侵古道：远处芬芳的青草一直长到古老的驿道上。 晴翠：草原明丽翠绿。 王孙：本指贵族后代，此指远方的友人。 萋萋：形容草木长得茂盛的样子。 【诗意】 古原上长满茂盛的青草，每年秋冬枯黄春来繁盛。 野火如何焚烧也烧不尽，春风吹来又蓬勃地滋生。 远处芬芳的青草长满了古道，阳光照耀下翠绿的草色连接着荒城。 今天我又来送别老朋友，连繁茂的草儿也满怀离别之情。 【创作背景】 《赋得古原草送别》作于公元788年（唐德宗贞元三年），作者当时实龄十六岁。此诗是应考习作，按科考规矩，凡限定的诗题，题目前必须加“赋得”二字，作法与咏物诗相似。 【诗人简介】 白居易（772-846）字乐天，晚年号香山居士。祖籍太原，下邽（今陕西渭南）人。贞元十六年（800）进士，官至刑部尚书。与元稹共同倡导了“新乐府”运动。其诗风平易自然，深入浅出。有《白氏长庆集》。 Bai Juyi A native of Xiagui (present-day Weinan City,Shanxi Province) and with his ancestral home in Taiyuan, Bai Juyi (772-846) was also known as Letian (courtesy name) and Xiangshan Jushi (Recluse in Xiangshan Temple, literary name in his later years). He passed the palace examination in 800, the 16th year if the Zhenyuan period in the Tang Dynasty, and the highest position he held in the government was Minister of Justice. He led the ‘New Yuefu Movement’ with Yuan Zhen. His poems feature a plain and natural style as well as profound thoughts described in simple language.
