　　Charge by distance
　　Starting on May 1, Beijing will charge for ambulance use in the city under a distance-based fare system similar to that used by taxis. The new measure applies to ambulance called by both 120 and 999 hotlines. Patients will be charged 50 yuan for up to 3 kilometers. After that, 7 yuan will be added for each kilometer.
　　从5月1日起，北京将对市内救护车采取计价里程收费系统，与出租车相似。新的措施适用于所有120和999热线。所有救护车3公里以内(含)收费50元，3公里以上每公里7元。
　　呼叫救护车的费用可以用hailing fee来表达。此前，北京的救护车按往返全程收费，即空驶的一段(empty legs of ambulance trips)也需计费。
